Take Care of Your Body: 8 Essential Tips

You only get one body, so you must take care of it to the best of your abilities. You can’t always stop yourself from getting ill, but you can do your best to make sure you feel and look good. Use these 8 essential tips regularly to get the most out of them:

Drink Plenty of Water

Water is essential for the human body to function. A large percentage of our bodies are made up of water, so you need to stay hydrated by drinking 2-3 litres per day. Water helps to flush toxins out of the system. It can also help to flush fat if you have any to lost. You’ll likely feel more alert and energised when drinking more water. Carry a bottle around with you to make a habit of it.

Eat Your Fruit and Vegetables

If you don’t currently eat enough fruit and vegetables, try to up your intake. You need to be eating around 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, but make sure it’s mostly vegetables. Fruit does have lots of sugar, so eating 2 portions per day is enough. If you don’t like fruit or vegetables, try making smoothies and taking supplements instead.

Get Some Exercise

Exercise is what the human body was built for. We are supposed to move around. We were built to survive and find food, so we aren’t doing our bodies any favours by sitting around on our bums. Find a form of exercise you can stick to at least 3 times a week and get moving. Even if it’s just walking, it’s better than nothing.

Avoid Bad Habits

Bad habits include smoking, binge drinking, and taking drugs. Avoid this like the plague. While they may give you short term gratification, they’ll make you ill in the long run. If you’re trying to quit a bad habit, get the right support and believe in yourself. Using e-liquid is a good alternative to smoking, after which you might decide to eventually stop altogether. When it comes to drinking and taking drugs, try to go cold turkey.

Take in Some Fresh Air

Fresh air is good for the mind, body, and soul. Sitting in the house all the time never did anybody any good. Go out there and get some fresh air and it’ll clear your head almost instantly.


Meditate is an effective way to increase endorphins and reduce any stressful feelings you may be having. Try to live in the moment, and don’t think about the past or the future. Simply focus on the now and everything good in life.

Get a Regular Check Up

If you don’t go for a regular check up, you might not realise there’s something wrong until it’s too late. It’s always worth seeing a doctor if you have any concerns and not just hoping for them to go away.

Apply SPF Regularly

SPF will keep your skin healthy and protect you from the damaging rays of the sun. You should put this on every day whether it’s hot or cold!
