It’s hard to believe the end of the year is so nearly here. I’m quite excited about 2016 just being around the corner. I like to think of the New Year as a fresh start. You can try new things, strive to improve yourself, and see the rewards of the hard work from the previous year. It is all cause for a big celebration. I love to welcome the New Year in.
I have spent a New Year or two at home. A quiet celebration with your family can be a great way to spend some quality time with loved ones. If you’re with a partner, it can be tricky to figure out whose parents you’re spending Christmas with. New Year can be the perfect second family event. We often have a late meal and some nibbles through the evening. There are drinks, and the TV is usually babbling to itself through to midnight too.
Going out for a New Year party is another way to make the most of the celebrations. Plenty of good friends around always lightens the mood. It’s difficult to keep up with your friends during the Christmas period as everyone spends so much time with their families. That’s why I love going to a party at a friend’s house for New Year. Catching up and getting into the New Year spirit certainly makes for a great atmosphere.
Many people like to head to London for New Year. The build-up on the banks of the Thames can be epic. You can hardly move at times for the number of people that turn up waiting for Big Ben to chime in the New Year. It’s usually cold, and occasionally raining, but that never dampens the spirits. And when the fireworks start, and everyone is singing Auld Lang Syne, you can completely forget about the weather.
A night out on New Year can be a spectacular event. There are never any taxis, but you can always find a private hire company offering executive chauffeuring for the night. Or you could even make a whole weekend of it, and enjoy being driven around to restaurants, theatres, and nightclubs. It frees you up to really enjoy yourself, and you can make the most of a city even if you’ve never been there before.
Finding someone else to do the chauffeuring also means you can enjoy a special night with your partner. You can both enjoy some quality time with each other without all the stress of map reading and parking! It’s ideal for any celebration. You can treat each other and make the most of a memorable night out. For the New Year, it saves you having to wait around for taxis or being a designated driver.
I love this time of year because it is filled with so much optimism. You can reflect on what you’ve achieved this year, and make resolutions for the coming one. It’s a chance to spend quality time with friends, family and loved ones too. Best of all, it’s a really great excuse for a huge celebration!
